Media Encoder

Media Encoder is a free program that works with an external FireWire target to create DVDs or MPEG files to be played on any set-top box, DVD player, or Blu-ray player. Many new Mac owners prefer to create their own DVDs, as discussed in Chapter 5.

Media Encoder is also a great program for burning CDs and DVDs, and it can be used to backup and convert media files. If you plan on editing video, audio, and photos and want to burn them to discs, Media Encoder is a good option.

You can use Media Encoder to burn the videos and photographs that you edited with Adobe software, even if you used Premiere Pro or After Effects. You can start a project, export it, and burn it in one project.

Photoshop 2021 (Version 22.4.1) [Win/Mac]

Element is supported by Adobe for the Windows platform. However, the latest version, Elements 12, will only be available for macOS users.

For the rest of this article, we will be focusing only on Elements 12.

Elements 12 comes with a host of new features, many of which can be found in other programs like Photoshop. Here is a list of what the latest version of Elements offers:

16-bit smart color grading: Multiplies and reduces the dynamic range of color. Makes white and black much brighter. Learn how to use with the 16-bit Smart Lookup table right here.

Brighter tones: Use the Tone Curve to increase or decrease the lightness of specific areas of an image. You can also use it to add highlights, or do what the word ‘lighten’ does but, with much more control.

High dynamic range images: 32-bit HDR image support. This can be done through the Tone Curve.

Real tone mapping: Using the Tone Curve and the Real Tone Mapping feature, you can get a decent result.

Multiply: This changes the image’s look by multiplying each channel by a different amount.

Add and subtract: The Add function increases the brightness of a color. The Subtract function decreases the brightness of a color.

Hue/saturation: The Hue/Saturation Dialog includes Hue/Saturation, Hue, Lightness, and Saturation.

Adjustment: This is the General tab which controls the level of detail present in your images.

Adjustment layers: Create layers to apply various adjustments to your images.

Channel Mixer: You can use this to target specific channels and boost the color in a specific part of the image.

Crop, Rotate, Distort, Brush: The Crop, Rotate, and Distort dialogs combine together.

Smart Brush: Select from various edge types including Bevel, Round, Square, and Polygon.

Layer mask: You can use layers masks to hide parts of an image using the Magic Wand.

Layers panel: A good way to organize your layers in a pleasing and easy-to-manage manner.

Image Panel: You can easily change your images using filters in the Image Panel.

New features and updates:
