Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

The first version of AutoCAD was written by a former architect who had not yet started a CAD company, yet found himself creating a CAD system for his own work. The application was originally designed to create architectural drawings, and, thus, had many features designed specifically for that purpose. In 1986, the company was re-organized and moved from San Rafael, California, to San Diego, California. In 1992, Autodesk bought San Rafael’s competitor, Computerized Systems, Inc. (CSI), and in 1997 Autodesk, Inc. was formed as a new company. In 2000, Autodesk bought White River Productions, Inc., which produced AutoCAD Map Design and AutoCAD Map 3D.

AutoCAD had been developed using a single source-code model, and many users used their own view and working libraries to speed up the process. The more complicated working styles were published as so-called Type libraries and became available for all programs running under the AutoCAD user interface. Type libraries were first introduced with AutoLISP in 1992 and in 1995 with AutoLISP 3D.

With the release of AutoCAD X, new features and an improved drawing engine were released as open-source code to speed up the development of other software packages.

The program features 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and 2D and 3D graphics with an integrated database engine. The drawing capability is based on a vector-based technology. AutoCAD can read the data from many file formats and import data from other CAD programs, and export to other CAD formats. AutoCAD can also import and export DWG (drawing) files.

The latest AutoCAD version, 2016, is available as a multi-platform desktop (X64) and Web (Web Direct) application, as well as a mobile version for iOS and Android devices.

Command Line Interface (CLI)
Since 2006, Autodesk has developed a command line interface (CLI) which allows users to run AutoCAD Product Key directly from the command line. The CLI is installed as an add-on to AutoCAD.

In addition to the CAD files of AutoCAD, it is also possible to work on XML files. To do so, you can use the Inventor XML editor or the xml.org editor.

In recent years, the CLI has been ported to Linux and it is still an important programming language for applications on the CAD side.

Since the CLI is based on the old Operating System COM object (COM+) and is no longer supported, it was replaced by the Autodesk Forge platform.

Batch commands
Since AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD LT 2010, the batch commands are available via COM+, (since AutoCAD 2008). When AutoCAD is installed, the command shell file called batch.cmd is located in the command directory. Batch commands are used to create more complicated operations, such as to automate the creation of a series of drawings, drawings, blocks, and other AutoCAD objects.

AutoCAD LT is included with the command shell file ltbatch.cmd.

Server interface
To be able to load, interact with and transfer to and from Autodesk applications, the CAD file must be registered to the file server. This is usually done by the end-user or a system administrator.

The registration on a desktop computer is normally done by clicking on the AutoCAD icon in the desktop tray (the “AutoCAD Launch Bar”), which then runs the autoload.exe or autoloadw.exe file.

The registration on a server is typically done by running the command autoregserver at the command line.

AutoCAD supports plugins written in the Visual LISP language. Visual LISP is a dialect of the LISP programming language and most programmers are comfortable with LISP.

The ADRP plugin architecture introduced in AutoCAD LT 2007 is built on top of the COM plugin system that was in AutoCAD LT 2007. COM plugins provide a standard way to extend AutoCAD through an extensible programming framework.

If a Visual LISP plugin doesn’t support the version of AutoCAD it is being developed for, the user has the option to

Select System\Preferences\Application\Autodesk\Autocad and press “Generate Key”.

Press “Key List” button and press “Finish”.

Autocad can be launched without Activation code.

Extract the offset values in an integer

I want to extract the offset values from an integer. The offset values are stored as three bytes:
int res = 0x004866A0;
char *offset_str = (char *)&res;

Output is: 48 66 A0

How do I get the offset_str to be 4866A0 instead?

if you want to get the hex value, use

if you want the first two digits, use

John Gaudier

John Gaudier (1825–1899) was a French painter and portraitist.

Gaudier was born in Arras. His father, Charles-Désiré Gaudier, a draughtsman, and his mother, Aline-Catherine Mazo, were both from Arras. His brother, Henri-Paul-Auguste Gaudier, was also a painter. In 1835, he and his brother were sent to live with the Chabrol family in Paris. In 1840, they returned to Arras, where Gaudier exhibited his work for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Français. In 1842, he went back to Paris, where he remained for the next nine years. He moved to London in 1852 and then to Rome in 1854. He returned to Paris in 1866, where he became director of the Académie Julian. He died in Paris in 1899.

Sixty-seven of his paintings are in the collection of the Musée d’Orsay.

His pupils included Pauline-Chantal Beyrand, Edouard-Leon Mortelé, Charles-Émile Reynaud, Alphonse Royer, and Georges De Véron.

Rapidly send and incorporate feedback into your designs. Import feedback from printed paper or PDFs and add changes to your drawings automatically, without additional drawing steps. (video: 1:15 min.) Markup Assist is a new feature in AutoCAD 2023. It’s a companion program to Markup, which is a workflow tool to help you edit and add new content to your drawings.
