In the beginning, all the users are designers. Gradually, they begin to find all kinds of businesses and services that AutoCAD can be used to create or modify. AutoCAD became one of the most widely used computer applications worldwide and one of the leading businesses in the industry. In 1998, Autodesk was acquired by private investment firm, The Carlyle Group.
AutoCAD is an abbreviation of Autocadere linea docere (Latin: Autocad of the Order) and was first released by Autodesk in 1982.
In 1982, users were required to do their own engineering drawings (plan drawings) and have a drafting table and a paper-based drafting pencil. The drawing would be then uploaded to a mainframe computer and the drawing stored in storage.
In 1985, Autodesk began to develop AutoCAD and began to work on an interactive vector-based drawing program.
In 1986, Autodesk entered into a relationship with a CAD software developer called ABA (Academic Computer Graphics Association) to collaborate in a development effort. In the same year, Microsoft Windows was released and AutoCAD became the first application that ran on the platform.
In 1988, Autodesk Inc. released AutoCAD LT. This program was mainly aimed at the smaller business users who needed to create simple drawings and plans that did not require the support of a computer-aided drafting technician.
In 1993, Autodesk Inc. developed Inventor, which is now the most powerful CAD software application for 2D and 3D modeling.
In 1995, Autodesk released Revit, a software product for architecture, engineering and construction.
In 1997, Autodesk launched a new development platform called AnyWhere that can run AutoCAD anywhere including the desktop, handheld, and in the cloud.
In 1998, Autodesk was acquired by The Carlyle Group.
In 2000, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD LT2008 for desktop. This new release brought several major updates, such as the addition of a 2D web editor, improvements in modeling features, improvements in the 2D drafting table, and others.
In 2002, Autodesk launched AutoCAD version 2009.
In 2004, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT 2010, which was optimized for users who do not require the power and flexibility of a professional CAD program.

AutoCAD supports 2D and 3D drawing. 2D drawings can be used to create 2D BIM models. 3D drawings can be used to create 3D models. AutoCAD also supports the ability to import and export 2D DWG, DGN, DWF, and SVG, 3D DWG, DGN, DAE, DFX, and STL file formats.
AutoCAD assemblies can be used as a plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio and.NET applications. When used with Visual Studio, these assemblies can be used to automate the creation of forms and dialog boxes. These assemblies include:
ADILIB (AutoCAD Interface Library)
ADILIB.NET (provides access to AutoCAD.NET assemblies)
AutoCAD API (Communication Library)
AutoCAD Assembly Runtime (AutoCAD.NET assembly loader)
AutoCAD Extension Library (provides automation of AutoCAD commands)
AutoCAD Extension for.NET (provides access to AutoCAD.NET assemblies)
AutoCAD Extension for Visual Studio (provides access to AutoCAD.NET assemblies)
AutoCAD Scripting (Scripting SDK)
AutoCAD Extension for Visual Studio
The AutoCAD Extension for Visual Studio is a developer tool extension for the Microsoft Visual Studio extension development platform. It provides a mechanism for extension developers to easily wrap, connect, and communicate with AutoCAD from within Visual Studio. It includes a series of C++ classes that provide AutoCAD’s extension interfaces.
AutoCAD first shipped in 1985 and first shipped as a standalone application in 1991, and as a Docking Station for Windows since 1995. AutoCAD includes file format support for: Autocad 2005, Autocad 2007, Autocad 2010 and Autocad 2011. The most recent major release, AutoCAD 2013, included the ability to import and export 3D DWG and DGN files.

HTC have brought a defamation case against blogger Karan Bhatia (aka “Mr M.E.”) and his publisher, Social, for claiming that the HTC One M8 was defective and that it was not the best Android phone on the market.
Mr Bhatia has a good reputation in the Android community as a knowledgeable and prolific writer. He has written extensively on the quality of devices such as the Google Nexus 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and has also given some prominent industry figures like Neil Young the benefit of his knowledge.
The HTC One M8 was launched in September 2013 and the claims published by Mr Bhatia which related to the phone were published in April 2014.
The previous week, the Advertising Standards Authority had issued a ruling against HTC, stating that the company had not acted in the best interests of consumers when it advertised the phone as “leading in innovation” as it had not made the claims it had. It was also alleged that the phone was sold in a way that deprived consumers of important information about the device, and consumers were misinformed about the phone’s functionality.
The ASA report was published on 30th March 2014 and was not mentioned by Mr Bhatia in the article he wrote.
HTC will argue that they had been maligned in a publication which
What’s New In?
Easily create organized, annotated, and annotated drawings with the new Markup Assist tool. Markup Assist gives you the ability to organize your drawing elements into groups and save those groups. Use Markup Assist to annotate drawings or create slide shows from your CAD drawings. (video: 3:55 min.)
Smart Edge Indicators:
See and edit the true path of a drawing line. This helps you to accurately measure, align, and position objects. (video: 3:59 min.)
Large icons are easier to see on the screen. Even small icons are easier to click. You can turn off the grid when you need it. And your options are much easier to access in a new user interface. (video: 2:53 min.)
It’s easier to select tool options in an interactive GUI, so that you can easily apply the effects of a tool to multiple objects. It also makes it easier to change options for the tool.
The concept of the Toolbox has been simplified. You can save and recall individual tools and settings for each tool.
Improved tool behavior:
Some tool changes are no longer changing as you move the object. With the improved behavior, the tools won’t follow along with your movement, so you can easily hold down multiple tools and move or rotate your object without being bothered by tool changes.
Minor GUI Improvements:
The default color of the dialog boxes has been changed. The color makes it easier to see at a distance.
You can use up to six digits to label a dimension, instead of the four digits you have in previous versions.
The new Audio Log feature allows you to record your CAD drawings, including annotations. You can use the Audio Log feature to capture your CAD drawing with annotations or to capture annotations for an existing CAD drawing. (video: 2:35 min.)
You can now measure by using the new Drawing Measurements toolbar, which is added to the Measure toolbar. (video: 1:50 min.)
You can easily erase unwanted text and lines, and you can control the erase tools with one gesture. (video: 1:32 min.)
