I have this code:

It is working, but I want to be able to tell it that foo is a number and that the id is a number, so I tried this:

But it doesn’t work. Is this possible or will I need to write the explicit tests?


No, you can’t just use Number.parseInt(foo.id). It’s not actually a valid number. It is a string.
However, if you were testing that foo was a number, you can just do:
expect(typeof foo).to.equal(‘number’);

Or if you want to check the value is numeric:
